Everyday Board Games Podcast is a podcast by friends who like discussing board game topics. We have 4 types of podcast that we stream live on the purple streaming site usually Tuesdays. The 4 types of podcast are Board Game Breakdown where we do just that and breakdown a designer and/or board game company’s gameography sometimes with a special guest or 2. Next is our discussion podcast Chits & Giggles were we do just that and discuss all things in gaming. Next we have our original podcast the Top 8 Debate where we debate the top 8 games of a certain topic and decide what is the overall best game in that discussion. We get these 8 games from Board Game Geek’s website rankings that we have both played, that way we can have a lively discussion. Finally our newest segment Board Game Brainstorm. This segment is where we breakdown a game that is 10 years or older and use our 5 Criteria from Top 8 Debate and give you 5 recommendations of similar games based on those criteria.

Join your Hosts Daniel and Daniel in another Top 8 Debate episode. In episode 45 we are debating the 8 highest games rated, that we have both played, from Board Game Geek. This week our topic of choice is the top grid coverage games. Grid coverage is defined by Board Game Geek as: A family of mechanisms in which players cover a grid or fill a space using a variety of shapes, such as Components: Polyominoes. Sometimes called a "Tetris mechanism", this challenges players to use shapes efficiently. It can either be the primary point of the game, as in Ubongo, or as a secondary mechanism to force players to plan and restrict their options, as in The Princes of Florence. Games that use a single piece type to construct or enclose areas-of-control (especially when in competition over common spaces) are utilizing Enclosure. So join us and find out which game we believe is the best.
